Children's Church

The Children's Church ministry takes place every Sunday during our 10:50 am worship service.  Children are dismissed from the regular worship service before the message and are lead away to participate in an age-appropriate worship experience. 

K-4 Children's Church

Children in Kindergarten through 4th Grade are dismissed from the worship service each Sunday and will spend 30-40 minutes in the Youth Center. Sixteen adults (working in 8 teams of 2) will take turns throughout the year leading the children in an age-appropriate worship experience including singing, a biblical message and discussion, activities, etc. using Group’s “Kids Own Worship” curriculum (www.kidsownworship.com). (NOTE: Parents – if you have children in 5th or 6th grade and would like them to participate in Children’s Church, please contact Mary Day or Kristi Wilhelm.)

Preschool Children's Church

We are excited to announce that starting on January 1, 2006, eight more teams of volunteers will begin leading a structured Children’s Church program for our preschool-aged children. This new ministry is designed for children ages 3-4. We will be using age-appropriate materials and lessons for preschoolers - including Theophilus the FaithRetriever™ Puppet - which are included in the “Kids Own Worship” curriculum which is used for the older children.

The addition of a Preschool Children’s Church will slightly affect the way the nursery and toddler rooms operate. The most significant change is that all children age 2 or below will be cared for in the nursery, which will be staffed with at least two adults each week. Children ages 3-4 will be cared for in the toddler room. While the Preschool Children’s Church activities will take place during the latter half of the worship service, 3 & 4-year-olds can still be dropped off in the toddler room before the service. If parents prefer to keep their 3 & 4-year-olds with them at the beginning of the service, their children can be dismissed to participate in Preschool Children’s Church at the same time the other children are dismissed. Preschool Children’s Church will actually take place in the 3 & 4-year-olds room, located next to the library. Children will then be returned to the toddler room, where parents can get their children after the worship service.
